A Husband and Wife’s Journey From Deception to Redemption
Where are you looking for hope? Like us you may be looking for hope in the same places we were: relationships, jobs, vacations, a house, and success in the world. In 2017, we found hope in an unexpected place.
We were surviving, but not thriving. Life’s valleys were overwhelming and seemed unbearable. Our family’s struggles included addictions, death of our first son, and anxiety. These circumstances left us desperate and we sought answers in New Age practices. Amazingly, in a terrifying demonic attack, Jesus Christ found us, delivered us, and saved us.
Our identity is now in Christ. Resting in God’s mighty power, has given us unimaginable turn-arounds. We believe and KNOW that Jesus can do the same thing in your life and the life of your family. Let hope rise up! There is no situation or person He can not redeem. God loves you beyond what you can fathom. We hope the books and podcasts inspire you to dream again and to rely on Jesus for the answers.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Full Testimony:
Keaton and I were given the gift of coming to know Jesus together. Before we knew Christ and his healing powers we were focused on the world. Our focus was on ourselves and our family. We were seeking the American Dream: a bigger house, more toys, and more money.
We were both raised in church going homes, but we never understood that there was a difference between religion and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Trauma and unexpected circumstances helped lead us to this discovery.
Our story begins in March of 1993. At the first ultrasound, we were excited to discover that we would have twins. Unfortunately, our twins were born at 23 weeks and they each weighed a little over a pound and a half. Many complications followed and our son Craig died at eight weeks old. We buried our son and buried our grief on May 15, 1993.
Our daughter Christie remained in the hospital for four months battling for her life. Due to oxygen deprivation and other conditions, she developed brain bleeds and damage. Later as she grew up she would be labeled cognitively disabled. She had a severe stuttering problem and could barely speak. When she turned 18, she started having what looked like psychotic episodes and ended up being hospitalized multiple times.
From 2011 through 2017, our faith was in doctors, medicine and psychiatrists. Christie did not get better and was taking about 20 prescription pills a day. The medication kept her subdued at times and at other times she was out of control. We had been to every hospital, searched the Internet for every cure and we kept coming up empty handed. We were exhausted, drained, and frustrated. We ended up placing Christie in a group home out of desperation. It broke our hearts. During this time we were asking, “Why us? Where are you God?”
In 2017, we had an unexpected opportunity. A friend suggested we go to a medium to get contact with Christie’s twin Craig who had died. We thought visiting the medium would bring us comfort. We believed that it was harmless fun. We would soon find out that we were dead wrong.
After the medium visit, without us realizing at the time, our thoughts and beliefs started to change. This first medium visit piqued our interest in this new spiritual realm and It felt exciting as we began to also seek out other New Age practices. These practices included searching and participating in a second medium contact, visiting a vortex of spiritual power, using Angel/Tarot cards, researching spirit animals, listening to a spirit guide CD, and believing in healing rocks and self healing techniques in the Yoga realm. We even began to follow the suggestions of one of the mediums to pray to Archangel Michael.
Our New Age journey began in an euphoric manner. In the beginning, we believed we were receiving messages and visual signs from the spirit world. We truly thought we were blessed with “angel signs” as we called them. We thought our son was trying to contact us from the realm of the dead.
The first deceptive sign was from Satan; the angel of light. A shadow formed on the living room wall from a plant that was on our mantle. The shadow formed a perfect angel. We took pictures and showed everyone at both of our workplaces. These types of signs and the movement of objects began to materialize in our home.

These signs were exciting at first, but then the atmosphere changed from euphoria, to fear and darkness. Over several weeks, each night became progressively more frightening. Both my husband and I experienced demonic attacks against our bodies. We were terrified of the dark and tried to catch a few miserable hours of sleep each night. One night the terror was so bad that my husband insisted that we confess all of the sins we committed in our life. I did not hesitate to agree. Perhaps, and thankfully so, our Catholic and Episcopal church backgrounds reminded us of the need to turn away from our sins.
And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light. 2nd Corinthians 11:14
A few days later, still scared out of our minds we went back to church and asked for counsel and prayers. At church, we were given a Bible and we were referred to the Armor of God in Ephesians 6: 10-18. It is a set of verses which are protection against demonic forces. We were so afraid that my husband and I went home from church on Sunday and huddled together reading the Armor of God. We were also told to throw everything away that was associated with our New Age purchases. In a terrified way, we did exactly as we were told.
The following day, the tide finally turned. In the afternoon, we walked to our mailbox. We crossed paths with a neighbor on the way. She noted that we did not look very good and inquired if we were ill. We told her everything that had been happening. Our neighbor noted that we were under a spiritual attack. She invited us into her house to pray. We were more than willing to comply. Though we didn’t know it at the time, the Bible has many warnings against participating in New Age practices.

Once inside our neighbor’s house, she showed us some bible scripture and two contrasting illustrations. The first illustration had a circle with a chair, or throne, in the center. In this illustration, self is on the throne of his /her own life and Jesus, represented by a cross, is outside of the circle of the person’s life. This first circle was filled with random, chaotic dots which represent disorder. In contrast, the second illustration had a circle with a chair, or throne, in the center. Unlike the first illustration, the cross, or Jesus is on the throne of man’s life. This circle was filled with a concentric and orderly configuration of dots. As we both stared at the two illustrations, our neighbor asked us a question, “Which throne do you want to represent your life?” Without hesitation, we both pointed to the circle with Jesus on the throne, and chaos being brought into peaceful order.
Do not turn to mediums, or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19: 31 (NIV)
Our neighbor asked us if we wanted to accept Jesus into our hearts. We both said, “Yes!” She shared the Gospel message with us. We understood that we were separated from God. We understood that the result of sin is death. We believed that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and we believed that Jesus was the only way to Heaven.

Our life from that point forward has never been the same. We went home that night with the authority of Jesus inside of us. It was as if all of the evil had been sucked out of the house like a vacuum. We finally slept peacefully after weeks of terror and agitation.

After accepting Christ we began to attend Bible studies and read the Bible on a daily basis. A few months later we felt it was important to record the order of events in a timeline. We wrote down all of the New Age events and practices in the order they happened. Then we recorded the date we accepted Christ. The date was May 15, 2017. My husband and I were blown away because we realized that the day we accepted Jesus into our hearts was the anniversary of our son Craig’s death.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 (NIV)

In our case, it was 24 years later that God connected the death of our son with our salvation. The only way to Heaven is through God’s son Jesus Christ. God was with us that whole time, but we just couldn’t see it. Our hearts were hardened. On May 15, 2017 we were set free by the truth.

Our life has changed dramatically from that date. Our daughter Christie accepted Christ one year after we did. God has set her free as well. Her medicine has dropped by 80%. She is calm, self-controlled and very loving. Praise God!
Keaton and I are now sharing the Bible’s message with men and women at the Waukesha County Jail. We have seen lives transformed by the powerful name of Jesus. We have been writing books for children and adults to help them understand how much God loves them. We hope these books will lead many to salvation, healing and peace.
